Pasture, Rangeland, and Forage (PRF)
For the years that Mother Nature doesn’t provide enough rainfall for your operation.
What is PRF?
Pasture, Rangeland, and Forage insurance (PRF) is designed to provide coverage on your pasture, rangeland, or forage acres. The program is to help provide protection from increased feed costs due to forage losses.
Utilizing PRF coverage helps manage risk associated with lack of precipitation. PRF Insurance covers grazing and haying ground with no upfront premiums.
PRF Insurance is an area based product, in which a grid system is referenced for your area. It is not based on the individual producer's experience.
The Rainfall Index (RI) from National Oceanic and Administration Climate Prediction Center (NOAA CPC) is monitored and when precipitation is below the average for covered intervals, claims are automatically triggered and do not require a notice of loss from the producer.
PRF allows producers to select 2 month index intervals in which precipitation is most critical for their operation. Coverage levels are selected between 70-90% in 5% increments.
Productivity factor between 60-150% – but no overlapping or double dipping.
